Verification and validation is the process of checking that a software system meets specifications and that it fulfils its intended purpose. It is an important part of software testing.
There is a long history of limit equilibrium slope stability analysis in 2D, and there are some well documented analyses that have been used by slope stability software developers to test their code. We have taken these problems from the published literature, and used them to test the TSLOPE 2D analysis implementation.
Well documented 3D analyses are less readily available. However there are a few 3D examples that we have been able to reference from the published literature, and we have compared these with the results obtained from our implementation of Spencer’s method in 3D.
