We present four verification examples, where we are able to directly compare the results of 3D analyses carried out with TSLOPE, and results reported by others.

The first example involves a planar slope at a grade of 1:2 with a homogeneous frictionless cohesive soil, and a spherical sliding surface.

The second example is a 60 degree slope with strength determined by friction and cohesion.  Solutions have been obtained for logarithmic spiral and ellipsoidal sliding surfaces.

The third example is a slope analysed both with, and without, a weak layer, and both with, and without pore pressures in the slope.

The fourth example comprises an idealised truncated cone, or “idealised hill”.
